Understanding...

I always know what's coming when I hear that phrase "You have to understand", as they say in Arabic “Lazim tifhimoun.” I dread hearing that phrase when I know a lecture is coming along and I usually want to sigh when I hear it. Sometimes "understanding" is very exhausting, especially when you have to.

Honestly speaking, no one has to understand anything anybody says at anytime at all. I mean, we don’t have to understand each other but, I guess, it works better when we do.

First Date...

I can imagine going out on the first date can be quite nerve wracking and stressful, for all ages, due to the fact that first impressions does make a huge difference on the future of this relationship. And, as if the pondering on the first date alone isn’t demanding enough, the contemplation of where to go on the first date is even a bigger burden, not to forget what to wear as well :)

Where to go on the first date?...Hmmm, to some, this is simple, while to others it can be a life changing decision. I always believe that first dates should take place in a coffee shop. Why you ask? Well, food is not involved, you don’t have to worry about how to eat and the amount that you can in front of the other person. Secondly, it gives you more time to talk and get to know one another in a comfortable surrounding. That way, if the person didn’t turn out the way you thought they would be then at least your wallet wasn’t damaged as well in the process ;)….(kidding, hehehehe)

Something To Think About? Where would you go out on your first date? If you choose a restaurant, I’m curious as to which type of restaurant :)

Love Hurts

Have you ever been hurt when the one you love leaves you or decides that you should just “be friends”?

Unfortunately, someone I admire is going through some separation issues and seeing him aching is upsetting. I’ve noticed that love does not have to hurt but it often seems to. When you listen to the tale of love you will hear it telling stories about the pain and sorrow of displeased love. Someone cheated, someone left, or someone passed on and left someone sad and alone. Love is such a powerful emotion that it is usual to see some pain associated with it at some time. But in the loss through breakup we haven't just lost one's physical presence in our lives, but their love, also. And the truth is that falling out of love or not having love is what really hurts. A first love breakup is one of the most painful experiences of life because you miss your love so much.

Fear of...

"Fear is a question: What are you afraid of, and why? Just as the seed of health is in illness, because illness contains information, your fears are a treasure house of self-knowledge if you explore them."

We all have many fears in our life...I fear failure...I fear rejection...I fear being judged wrongly by others...I fear hate from others...I fear death...I fear loneliness. Fear seems to be a primary reason people turn to religion. Believing in a God gives comfort that you are never alone, that you are always loved. We all suffer from the false impression that we are separate from others and that we have to “fit in” to be accepted. So how do we deal with the issue of fear of loneliness?

What's Your Happy Thought?

Happiness is a state of mind, in a matter of speaking. Our habitual thought patterns can greatly influence whether or not we are happy in our daily lives. To some, surrounding themselves with family and friends bring them the highest joy possible while others tend to acquire happiness from materialistic possessions. Each person has different aspects in life that bring them joy, that can be considered their happy thoughts. One of my happy thoughts, that truely causes an explosion of excitement within me, is the SWOOSH sound when the basketball goes through the net! (and whenever Manchester United wins a match :p)...Family and friends, of course, will always be one of my major happy thought :)
